22/07/2021 New self-bag drop system at Malpensa Airport

At the beginning of April 2021, a new self-bag drop system went into operation at Malpensa Airport, Italy's second-largest international airport.

This will automate the baggage drop-off process at Terminal 1 using 13 Materna Pax.Go units for easyJet passengers. At the units, passengers can carry out the bag drop process independently and without the assistance of airport staff

After phase 1 of the rollout, a total of 21 Pax.Go units will be in service at Malpensa by April 2022. All terminals are "IATA Common Use Self Service" compliant, i.e. additional airlines can be connected to the system. The connection is straightforward and enables customized and cost-efficient configurations for the individual requirements of each airline.
