Reliable in car washes & car washes

DRB Systems supplies 15" and 21.5" outdoor terminals (OTT) to car washes in the USA. The High Brightness Touch PCs from faytech® are ideal for outdoor and indoor areas with demanding environmental conditions. This makes the devices the first choice for DRB.

At the terminals, customers in the parking lot or employees at the washing tunnel select the desired cleaning program. The appliances are exposed to the weather as well as the wash water, which is enriched with chemicals.

As OEM we have adapted the product to the specific requirements of DRB Systems: To ensure smooth continuous operation, we provided the powder-coated aluminum chassis of the touch PCs with complete IP65 protection, which also includes the power button and the I/O ports for peripheral devices. As the risk of a plastic seal degrading under the effect of the chemical additives in the wash water would be too great, we sealed the front and rear of the solution by gluing.

The optical bonding between the touch and LCD panel makes a significant contribution to perfect IP65 protection. It effectively prevents the ingress of splash water and the formation of condensation. The manufacturing process also benefits the sharpness of detail and color brilliance of the display.

As one of the world's leading display specialistsfaytech® operates a state-of-the-art production facility for optical bonding in Huizhou, China. We use CLEAR-BOND, a formulation developed and patented in-house.

The OTT's LCD display has a luminance of 1000 nits (cd/m²) so that the screen content is easy to read even in bright sunlight. A 2.2 mm thick safety glass is applied to the display, which also protects the surface from the effects of weather and splash water.

But that's not all: the glass with hardness grade 7 has a special coating that minimizes fingerprints and light reflections. A particularly important feature for DRB's customers and employees: the device can also be operated with gloves and so-called ghost touches, which are caused by water droplets on standard capacitive-projective touchscreens, are ignored.
