For the accommodation industry Self check-in solutions

The best service for your guests - digital, of course!

Digitization strategies for the accommodation industry

Staffing levels are low and there is no improvement in sight. Therefore, concentrate the available resources where they bring the greatest added value to the guest - and hand over tasks that can be digitized without compromising on service quality to technology solutions.

These include terminals for self-check-in during and outside business hours. 24/7 check-in is particularly important for guests who come from far away and are running late. 24/7 check-in means: no nerve-wracking race against time, but relaxed check-in, even when reception is closed.

In the near future, the competitive advantages of digitalization in the hospitality industry will go beyond today's touchpoints.

Electromobility is on the rise and a representative study from 2022 shows that 35% of all electric car drivers would like to charge their vehicle more often during a hotel stay. Charging stations are therefore becoming a must!

Due to the diversity of the hospitality industry, there is no one golden path to successful digitalization. Each operator must decide which digital building blocks will bring the greatest benefits for their guests, their employees
and themselves.

With the three brands AKHET®, faytech® and Polytouch® , Pyramid is the first solution provider for the digitalization of touchpoints in your hotel, motel, hostel or inn.

FAQ: Self check-in & automatic hotel check-in

Automatic hotel check-in allows guests to check in independently—for example, via a self-check-in kiosk in the entrance area or lobby. The terminal is connected to the hotel's property management system (PMS) so that reservations can be automatically retrieved, guest data recorded, and room access cards issued.
The POLYTOUCH FLEX21.5 check-in kiosk is designed for such applications and can be equipped with components such as document scanners, QR scanners, or card readers.

A self-check-in kiosk helps hotels automate recurring processes in the reception area. This allows the check-in process to take place independently of reception hours and can be integrated into existing IT structures.
For operators, automatic hotel check-in means that arrival processes become more predictable and staff can be deployed more effectively for service and advisory tasks.

Modern self-check-in solutions are usually connected to property management systems, access systems, or payment platforms via standardized interfaces. This allows reservation data, guest registration, and room access to be automatically linked.
A self-check-in kiosk acts as a physical interface between the guest and the hotel IT system.

Depending on the application scenario, self-check-in kiosks can be equipped with different modules. These include, for example, document scanners for identity verification, QR scanners for booking confirmations, or card readers for issuing room cards.
Terminals such as the POLYTOUCH FLEX21.5 check-in kiosk are specially designed for such applications in the hospitality environment.

In addition to automatic hotel check-in, self-service terminals can also be used for additional digital services, such as additional bookings, guest information, or internal services.
Compact terminals such as the POLYTOUCH FLEX LITE Self-Ordering / SCO , for example, be used as supplementary self-service stations in hotels—for additional services, catering offers, or guest self-services outside the reception area.
