On the occasion of the anniversarys the Badische Zeitung pays tribute to the past and present of Pyramid in this extensive article. It appeared in the business section of the paper on September 6, 2025.
Four decades ago, we started out as a PC manufacturer in a garage in Freiburg - today we are one of the leading suppliers of industrial PCs and industrial servers, touchdevices and self-service terminals.
Our history is characterized by innovative strength, the courage to change and a clear commitment to Germany as a production location.
What began with the construction of personal computers developed step by step into an international success: High-performance servers for research institutions such as CERN, customized systems for retail giants such as EDEKA and over 100,000 self-service terminals sold worldwide: whether for check-in at airportsat airports, at McDonald's and at the Kennedy Space Center - Pyramid solutions are in use everywhere.
"We are a medium-sized company with short decision-making processes and a high degree of flexibility. That's exactly what makes us successful," explains our Managing Director Peter Trosien.
Today, Pyramid employs around 200 people at several German locations and continues to grow. With the recent takeover of RNT Rausch and planned new capacities in Ettlingen, we are positioning ourselves even more broadly for the future.
Production in the USA is also being examined in order to serve the local market even more efficiently.
