LOCALIZATION tracks a person in real time using their puck (BLE tag). Every change in position is registered immediately. The staff member can locate the guest even if they have moved from the indoor area to the outdoor area of your restaurant. Or the sales associate can precisely locate the customer who is waiting for assistance while exploring the space.

LOCALIZATION can easily be expanded to include one or more POLYTOUCH® kiosk terminals and puck dispensers. Food orders, requests for assistance, or service requests are then no longer processed by staff but are entered directly at the terminal, which dispenses the pucks via the linked dispenser.

For existing systems Integration of external puck dispensers

Puck dispensers (dispensers for BLE tags) can be seamlessly integrated with existing kiosk terminals to streamline the ordering process.

After an order is placed at the kiosk, a token is automatically dispensed to track the guest’s or customer’s location. This integration makes it possible to expand the self-service process without having to modify the existing infrastructure.

Localization of pucks (BLE tags) using AoA and locators (antennas)

Pucks (e.g. for ordering in restaurants or self-service areas) are localized using Angle of Arrival (AoA) technology and special locator antennas. The position of the puck is determined by measuring the angle of the signals received.

The figure illustrates this principle: Several permanently installed locator antennas (top left and right) receive signals from a puck that is located, for example, on a specific table. The exact position of the puck can be calculated based on the different angles of arrival (AoA) at the antennas.

Real-time visualization of localization

The localization of pucks is displayed visually on a screen in real time, as shown in the picture. The floor plan of the store shows the exact locations of the active pucks (colored markers), while details such as order time and waiting time are displayed on the left.

This overview enables staff to deliver orders quickly and efficiently to the correct table. The system can be flexibly adapted to different store layouts and helps optimize operations and increase customer satisfaction.

Central monitoring and analysis

The system offers not only real-time location tracking but also comprehensive monitoring and analysis tools. Operators can monitor all locations centrally.
